Management, coordination, and governance
The Hinboun Geopark Management Team is responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of the Geopark. It oversees administrative, technical, and financial operations, implements the Geopark’s management strategy, and prepares short-, medium-, and long-term action plans. The team regularly reports to and works under the guidance of the Geopark Steering Committee to ensure coherent and transparent governance.
Scientific integrity, conservation, and heritage protection
In close collaboration with the Scientific Committee, the Management Team ensures the scientific accuracy of all Geopark activities and content. It coordinates research, data collection, and documentation on geosites, and supports the protection, conservation, and sustainable management of geological, natural, and cultural heritage in line with UNESCO Global Geopark standards, folowwing the Scientifi Committee’s recommendations.
Local coordination and socio-economic development
The Management Team works closely with local authorities, communities, civil society organizations, and private sector actors to support sustainable tourism and local economic development. It facilitates cooperation among stakeholders, encourages community participation, and promotes local products, services, and initiatives that contribute to inclusive and sustainable development within the Geopark.
Education, awareness, and knowledge sharing
Education and public awareness are central to the mission of the Hinboun Geopark. The Management Team develops and coordinates educational, interpretive, and outreach activities for schools, visitors, and local communities, aiming to raise awareness of geological heritage, environmental protection, and the cultural values of the territory.
